Our Leadership Team

  • Johnny Cole - Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Johnny is a marketing tech consultant by day, men’s work facilitator by night. He began his men’s work journey while attending the University of Rochester. He presided over an organization called Men Opposing Violence Everywhere (MOVE) that focused on sexual assault prevention education. During a 5th year scholarship of gender studies coursework he interned and then worked full time at the Willow Domestic Violence Center in Rochester, NY.

After graduating, Johnny realized his responsibility in reaching other men to unlearn patriarchy and thus improve social conditions for all, and pivoted to a formal men’s work practice - leading his first men’s retreat for Hey Brother Co.’s inaugural cohort in July of 2022.

    Johnny resides in Cleveland, OH.

  • Lewis Kendall - Content Director

Lewis Kendall is a freelance writer whose work focuses on environmental justice and food systems. His work has appeared in the Guardian, the New York Times, Business Insider, High Country News, the Associated Press and others. He was previously a reporter in Bozeman, Montana, Durham, North Carolina, and Ithaca, New York.

Lewis joined HBC because he has seen and felt firsthand the negative effects of modern masculinity and wants to help change the paradigm.

Lewis is based in New York City.

  • John Feldkamp - Director of Men's Health Research

John is a medical student at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine focused on improving medical accessibility and community health; and exploring both emergency medicine and trauma surgery. He is a published researcher with experience in the fields of preventative asthma care, cardiac intensive care, and neurobiology through the University of Rochester, Boston Children’s Hospital, and the Harvard Program in Neuroscience. Outside of academia, John is a competitive powerlifter, rock climbing aficionado, and admittedly-novice cook.

John joined HBC after witnessing a deep need in both his personal and professional life for emotionally intelligent men willing to challenge the malignant status quo. As a physician, John hopes to bring men’s work into both sides of healthcare to empower patients and dismantle the existing patriarchal “boys clubs” found within the traditionally male-dominated profession. He also hopes to champion research and medical initiatives that can provide empirical data on the power of men’s groups to improve mental and physical health outcomes for men and boys. The youngest of the HBC leadership team, John is a cycle breaker and sets an admirable precedent for Gen Z for what it means to unlearn patriarchal masculinity.

    John lives in Cincinnati, OH.
